((March 4, Genetic Opera's ballroom. Open to everyone.))
The Opera house's ballroom had been cleared out, it's seats and junk laying around put in the under ground storage. The chandeliers had been lit and the entire room seemed to be bathed in gold and gem colors. The walls a bright and white gold and the floor was designed in swirling tiles of white mother of pearl and a black opal. The high ceilings were decorated by Fresco's depicting scenes from Roman mythology and history in every color imaginable. And the windows were vibrant prisms that made the entire room sparkle.
Several catering trucks arrived in the back carrying every type of Italian food imaginable. From pastas, meats, fruits, vegetables, desserts. And of course lot's and lot's of good wine and liquor. At the very back of the ballroom on a dais was an orchestra was warming up
It had been Pavi's idea to hold Venetian style Masquerade ball, in honor of the Carnivals that were held in the past in Venice during the pre-plague years. And Amber always one for a party and to dress up. So in a matter of weeks Amber and Pavi had put this together, sent out invitations to the creme de le creme of the social world and insisted that if anyone were to come it would be in a costume with a mask. No exceptions.
Amber already her costume picked out, a Dark/Fallen Angel theme that suited her quite well, she just had to make sure everything was going on well down here before going up stairs to change and get herself ready. She also knew that their mother would be there as well, but what she was going as she couldn't say.

Both Vittoria was upstairs getting ready for the masquerade. She was very pleased with the ball gown she had picked out. It hugged her figure and showed off her bust (especially with the help of a bra that made sure he breasts stayed together, and shapely waist without looking slutty.
She knew this was the dress for her when she was trying it on at the store, and several men stopped and looked at her. A few even started flirting with her and gave her their numbers. Which she promptly turned away and had her guards escort them far away from her.
The dress was a very light shade of pink that made her hair look even darker and gave her skin and almost pearly sheen to it. And the way she was planning on doing her hair, curled slightly and in a half up do and the small bun held in place with a comb. Of course she was still well away from doing her hair.
At the moment she was soaking in a tub full of bath milk and velvet tube rose scented oils that were supposed to make her skin soft and lightly scented throughout the night. It would also help soften any body hair she had on her so it would be easier to wax/pluck off. Vittoria slid down in the tub relaxing and thinking about tonight.
She'd be expected to dance of course, and while she could dance she just didn't enjoy doing so with strangers. Hopefully her brothers would be willing to dance a few dances with her, if they were in a good mood and Mama was around.

Luigi was preparing for the Masquerade as well, which meant he was getting drunk. He was standing in his room being dressed by a couple of genterns and drinking straight from a solid gold flask. "Really don't want to fucking do this." He thought irritably as one of the geneterns fastened his jacket. "But Mama insisted that I be there. So...no choice really."
One of the Geneterns bumped Luigi causing him to spill the rest of the booze in his flask on the ground. And before the woman even scream or apologize (not that Luigi would listen to an apology.) One of Luigi's knives were in her jugular. With a quick flick of his wrist her neck was nearly torn in two.
"Good thing I'm wearing red." Luigi thought stepping over the body and putting on his cape, red devil mask, and gloves with gold claws sewn onto the finger tips. He began wiping the blood off his knife with a handkerchief, then placed it back into his pocket. "I'd hate to have to get re-dressed and be late. That might make Mama upset."

Pavi, stowed away in his room for the moment, was also, you guessed it, preparing for the Masquerade. He'd been looking forward to this for the past several weeks, hastily preparing the extravagant event with Amber. And now, it had all come to fruition; the highest members of society were invited, which of course included several handsome bellas and bellos for Pavi to interact with. He hadn't even bothered to acquire a date for the evening, knowing that he'd wind up with someone over the course of the night.
He'd chosen a costume that complimented both his masculine and feminine side - a pirate. The fact that it was a masquerade only added to the fun; for once, he wasn't the only one wearing the mask at the party. It was slightly reassuring to the man's ego...not that it needed much reassuring. Currently, he had three Genterns groping his ass while pulling him into the complex attire. He chuckled a bit, sliding his arms through the sleeves of a long black coat, adjusting the white collar, and stepped into his slightly-above modest heeled boots. Underneath the coat was a pair of black trousers, and a striped, form-fitting vest. Next came his jewellery, which consisted of a gold and black ring, matching earrings, and various necklaces that hung just above his slightly-exposed chest.
Last but not least was his mask, which would sit on top of one of his usual skin masks. Pavi might feel more comfortable now that everyone would be wearing a mask, but that didn't mean that he'd go without his own personal mask. After all, this one would be getting taken off later in the night, but the other sure as hell wouldn't.
Placing the gold and black mask, with the tri-cornered hat attached to the top, onto his face, Pavi glanced into the mirror being held by one of his Genterns with a smirk. He was looking sharp, and he knew it. His hair had been lightly curled, so that it held a bit more of a wave than usual, and he'd done up his regular face with special makeup for the occasion. Tonight was sure to be a truly fantastico event; he'd be sure of that.
Waving the girls away, Pavi took the mirror back from the one who'd been holding it, who'd been half wrapped around him the entire time. Breathing a giggly laugh into his ear as Pavi devilishly groped her behind, the girl scampered off with the others, leaving Pavi to himself in his bedroom. Striding over to a larger mirror in the room, Pavi admired his impressive reflection, along with the way he carried himself in the tall boots. Spraying on some perfume, Pavi took a few more moments to admire himself before finally leaving his room, heading for the limo that would take him to the opera house.
"It is a good-a night to be a Largo..." Pavi thought to himself, grinning excitedly.

Lucretzia ran a brush through her long jet black hair, she left it down and parted in the middle. The only thing she did was put a little hair spray in it to keep it in place. She was already dressed in her ballgown. A green and gold Renisance gown with flowers embrordered on the bodice to form a Fleur De Lis. When she finished her hair she put on a deep red lipstick, and did her eyeshadow in a gold and green smokey style. Her high cheekbones were highlighted by a brown-gold blush.
When finished with her hair and face, Lucretzia put on her head piece. A golden circlet with several large gold oak leaves decorating it. Her mask was a gold colombina mask decorated with leaves, fruits, and flowers. Her costume theme was Gaia, Mother Earth, and she felt it was quite fitting.
Lucretzia slipped on her mask and studdied her reflection in the mirror. She was glad she got a face lift a few days ago, she hated how her face looked with crows feet. Before she turned and left Lucretzia spritzed on a perfume that smelled of honeysuckle, musk, and apples.

Once Vittoria was washed and dried, and any unwanted body hair was removed she began working on her appearance. She didn't want to go over board since she wanted her costume to stick out plus since she'd be wearing a mask there'd be no reason to go heavy on the makeup.
So she put a pale powder foundation, light pink blush, white eyeshadow coupled with a dark eyeliner, pale pink lipstick, and clear lip gloss. Vittoria then uncurled her hair and brushed it out so that it was very, very wavy. Taking several pins and ponytail holders she fashioned it into a half up do with plenty of black hair trailing down her shoulders. She fastened a
Unlike her brothers and sister Vittoria could dress herself. Mostly because she loathed others touching her, it made her skin crawl and usually she'd lash out at whoever was touching her in a very violent way. (Breaking an arm, pushing them out a window, and other things.)
The only people Vittoria was all that comfortable allowing to touch her, were he own family. Mostly her mother. Though recently over the past month living with her siblings she found that she more than enjoyed brief affectionate (and not so affectionate) touches.
She wanted physical contact with them, she wanted a lot more physical contact with them. "I am not looking forward to this,"She thought as she fastened her sheer white stockings with lacy trim to their matching garters. "The only upside is I might be able to get a dance or two from Pavi or Luigi."
She put on her light pink ball gown, shoes, fingerless opera gloves. As well as jewelry with diamonds arranged in the shapes of roses, pair of pink and white butterfly wings and a decorative white mask with light pink decorations on it.
Vittoria looked in the large mirror across from her bed her normal emotionless expression as even more unreadable with the mask she wore. But was she was feeling was annoyed. "Why do I always get stuck dressed up as something sweet and innocent? It's because I'm the youngest and a girl." And with that though fuming in her head she headed off downstairs.

Shilo, who'd already been pulled into a complicated costume by several annoyed, rough Genterns, was meanwhile hiding in the rehearsal room preparing herself. After bathing herself, the women had forced her into a large, poofy violet dress, which Shilo felt was just a bit over the top, impossible black heels, bat wings, various pieces of jewellery, and a heavy amount of dark makeup. The final piece to her attire was a lacy black mask that resembled a bat, which barely covered her face, or the makeup they'd insisted on smearing over her face.
So, at the last minute, Shilo had hurried off to the rehearsal room alone, for just a moment to have to herself. She'd stared into the various floor-length mirrors that covered the walls, disgusted with her appearance and the fact that she could barely even recognize herself. She'd wiped away most of the eyeshadow and blush, so that now her eyes had only a light purple cover with a hint of eyeliner, and her face glowed a faint pink over her white skin. Her lips were a light brown hue, and, having grown considerably more satisfied with this look than the way the Genterns had made her over, she'd moved to the piano, and began to play.
There had been a piano in her room when she'd lived with Nathan; it had taken awhile to get used to the feel of the keys again and recall each treble and note of music on the black and white sheets that sat before her on the stand, but over the past week or so, she'd immersed herself in the music as a means of escape. Her tune was quiet and soft, with a hint of a melancholy tune to it, but that was the way she liked it. As soft as it was, it was likely that she'd be unfound for a little while yet.
However, this proved not to be the case as the door to the room slowly opened after a few minutes, causing her to quickly stop playing. But when the figure was exposed, Shilo breathed a small sigh of relief, finding it to only be Puck. It had taken her a moment to recognize him, however, given his strange attire...well, stranger than usual.
Puck walked in, making a slight jingling sound as he walked, due to the heavy amount of bells that covered his clothes. He was dressed in a jester's costume, red, orange, and gold in appearance, with curled shoes, a large, floppy hat, a skull-topped scepter, and a golden mask that covered half of his face. The top of the mask was extended with three curls of music sheets, each attached with round bells at the end. In all actuality, he looked quite comical, and Shilo raised an eyebrow, a faint smile tugging at the corner of her lip as he made his way over to the piano beside her.
Puck returned her smile, leaning against the instrument with one arm. "Alright, go ahead and laugh," he rolled his eyes, though Shilo only gave a slightly larger smile. "I thought it was fitting. But now that you've seen me, I better get to see your ridiculous costume. Come on, stand up. I want to see what crazy outfit Amber's picked out for you."
Shilo sighed, standing up from the bench and moving to the side so that Puck could see the full length of her outfit. The jester's eyes widened slightly, and he smirked, letting out a low, teasing whistle as he looked her up and down. Shilo blushed slightly, before sitting down quickly again. "Yeah, yeah, I know," she muttered, rolling her eyes and looking away. "I look like some sort of frumpy Disney princess, right?"
"Not quite," Puck shook his head, grabbing her hands and pulling her to her feet. She stumbled a little in the heels, and he caught her, laughing a little. Suddenly, his smile grew more sincere, and he gave her a small hug, before pulling back and saying, "You look beautiful, Shi."
Shilo blushed again, and rolled her eyes with a small smirk. She knew that Puck was just teasing...or at least, only meant it in a friendly manner, but she still reddened at the thought of anyone thinking she looked...well, nice. "Come on. They're going to be wondering where you are," Puck said after a moment, breaking her train of thought. "It is your first public appearance in over a year. Come on, I'll be your escort," Puck teased, smirking and holding his arm out for the girl to take.
Shilo forced a small smile, before taking his arm with a sigh. As they exited the room, heading downstairs for a car that was waiting(which, unfortunately for Shilo, happened to be the same one that Pavi was riding in), Shilo had to convince herself that Puck's next words were true..even though she knew they weren't.
"It'll be okay, Shi."

"I-a thought you-a were supposed to-a be wearing a costume Luigi." Vittoria teased walking down the stairs carefully. At the foot near the door was Luigi in his devil outfit. He scowled at her through his mask.
She could really be a pain at times, almost as bad as Pavi. Maybe worse than Pavi, since she'd hit him back if he dared to strike her. "Shut the fuck up, Toria." Luigi snarled. "At least I don't look like a pastry dipped in glitter. What are you supposed to be, a fairy?"
Vittoria glared at that, her cheeks warming a little at the comment. She absolutely hated this dress and having to dress girlie. Had she had it her way she'd either be in her room reading or going as something more suited to her personality. Like a vampire or witch.
"I'm-a butterfly." Vittoria said motionlessly. Luigi burst out laughing at the thought of his psychotic and wicked little sister being something so delicate and soft as a butterfly. Vittoria reached over and punched him in the stomach. Luigi went down holding his stomach and wincing.
"Chiudi il culo, Luigi!" She hissed at him. "I-a don't want to-a go to-a this-a thing anymore than-a you do!" "Fine, whatever, bitch!" Luigi growled up at her. He'd get back at her for that. Maybe not to night but later. "Where the fuck are Shiloh and Pavi? I just want to get this over with before I burn up in this thing."
"At-a least you're-a not embarrassed to-a be see in-a your costume. Caro Dio, I'm going to-a be all over the magazines tomorrow...unless you-a or Pavi do-a something embarrassing."
Vittoria had gained a very large fan following, mostly men, and the paparazzi and media fed it by getting as many photo's of her as possible. The top selling ones when she looked "innocently coquettish" as some journalist claimed. Usually that meant when she was wearing something like her school uniform or when she was wearing something like tonight. An outfit that made her look innocent but highlighted her body at the same time.
"Get used to it kid," Luigi said adjusting his mask. "Cause they aren't going to go away. No matter how many of them you stab."

"Well, don't-a you both look-a lovely?"
Shilo cringed from behind her mask at the sound of the thickly accented voice, looking up to see none other than Pavi leaned against one of the walls. of the hallways she and Puck had been walking down together. She held tighter to Puck's arm instinctively, and he took notice, forcing a smile towards the younger Largo son. In all honesty, Puck was very temperamental when it came to his feelings for Pavi. Sure, they hooked up every now and then, went out from time to time, and he was probably closer to Pavi than any one else at the moment, but that didn't mean that he felt like he was close to the youngest son of GeneCo. Especially when he had to act so down right creepy towards Shilo, who'd become something close to a friend these past few days.
"Please, you're making me blush," Puck said sarcastically, with a smirk as they approached Pavi. Shilo glanced up at the Largo, who winked at her from behind his two masks, before she quickly looked away again, regretting it immediately. Pavi just plain disgusted her, with his leering habits, ugly masks, and annoying, flirty accent. And what was worse, he acted completely oblivious to the fact that she wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.
"Come. Mio fratelli are-a waiting," Pavi laughed, gesturing for them to follow with a gloved hand. Puck raised an eyebrow at the other's attire, allowing a genuine grin to escape him. "You're looking sharp tonight, Pavs," he remarked, and Pavi smirked in response. They made slightly ambiguous small talk the rest of the way, until they'd exited the building, catching sight of Luigi and Vittoria not too far off.
"Well, what do we have-a here," Pavi chuckled as they walked towards the two other Largos, making his presence known as he looked his siblings up and down. Interestingly enough, the two of them had each managed to pick good costumes. Puck and Shilo kept behind Pavi, Shilo remaining attached to the former's arm in hopes that she would be ignored, as she usually was. Puck remained silent, as he normally did around the other Largo siblings; if Pavi was just a little disturbing, the rest of them absolutely took the cake.

Lucretzia hurried, as fast as she could in her ball gown and heels, down to where the others were waiting. She didn't want to keep them waiting and was eager to have a night out with all of them. Even if they'd be surrounded, as always, by thousands of on lookers, hangers on and paparazzi. Not to mention the hundred or so guests that were lucky enough to grab an invite.
Still a night with the family was a night with the family. "Good, you're-a all here. We don't-a have to wait." She said seeing the group assembled at the front gates.
She greeted Pavi and Luigi with a kiss on the cheek, as she always did. They both looked wonderful in their costumes, and secretly Lucretzia was glad Pavi wasn't anything to flamboyant. She loved her son very, very much. Nothing would change that but she always felt a bit...awkward when Pavi chose to dress in drag. It was something she would try and work on, if she couldn't get rid of that feeling she could certainly try and make it so that Pavi never knew she felt that way.
"Bambini," She said to Pavi and Luigi. "Amber said she would-a meet us all there for-a the opening. In-a costume of-a course. Also, she wanted to-a make sure that-a we'd be entering into the-a front of the-a opera house. Especially if-a Shiloh was-a with us. For the-a photo ops for the-a press." She looked at Shiloh, glanced at her more like. She hadn't had any real contact with the girl outside of their lessons in manners together.
"La signorina Wallace," She said to the girl, moving on the side that wasn't pressed up against Puck. She took the girls face in her hands and tilted it upward, not unlike how Pavi did when looking at a woman's face. She looked at the girl closely, assessing her outfit.
"You look wonderful tonight." She said after a few minutes with a bright smile. That would've been friendly if not for the cold appraising look in her ice blue eyes. "I knew that-a that dress and-a color would-a look good on-a you, now Shiloh. I want-a you to a remember our-a lessons together. When you are-a out in the-a public, act graciously and gracefully. If someone asks you-a question you'd rather not-a answer say 'I don't think I-a can answer that right now, thank you' or-a 'No comment at-a this time.' And remember to always smile, even if-a it's a small one. Because you-a never know who's-a watching and-a if they-a have a camera on them. Understood?"
She let go of the girls chin as the limo approached, she hooked her arm around Luigi's arm. Giving one last smile and a knowing look to Shiloh. "Now, shall-a we go?"

Amber meanwhile was waiting for her families arrival at the Opera House. Not very eagerly mind, she would've prefered that they not be part of the Masque at all, but as it was sponsered by GeneCo and thrown by her and Pavi the entire Largo family was expected to be there. As well as the new protoge Shiloh Wallace, not to sing of course but simply to be seen. To get the publics intrest in the girl.
Amber was dressed as a Raven. A leather corset dress with a gigantic black train made of midnight black feathers, black wings on her back, black stilleto heels, and a black metal mask in the shape of wings. He hair was a matching black and put up in a bun made of complicated braids and held in place by to ebony hair needles in a vaugly asian style. On her throat was a chocker made of onyx. "Where are they?" She thought irritably looking for the limo. "I swear if Pavi decided to change costumes at the last minute I'm going to wring his neck! Damn I wish there weren't all these people around, I could use some Z to calm me down."
As usual inside Ambers purse was a mini Z gun and a small vial of Z. Unfortunatly for Amber it was the last of the pure stuff...and it was going to be a long night ahead of her.

"Of course, Mama." Luigi said smiling down at his mother, just glad to see her happy. "You look beautiful tonight." Luigi would do anything to make his mother happy and proud of him. Even trying to suppress his murderous rages and his snide comments to Pavi whenever she was around.
Which everyone in the GeneCo tower soon caught on, a lot of the Geneterns and assistants wouldn't even come near him unless his mother was in the next room or near him. And Pavi....fucking Pavi, seemed to get even more annoying when he knew Luigi couldn't do anything to him. But hopefully at a crowded function, with people in masks, Luigi could turn the tables on his brother.

Shilo stared back into Lucretzia Largo's dark eyes, feeling smaller with every moment under her stare. She felt like an insect being scrutinized, ready to be dissected. And, considering how picky the woman could be about manners, she had a feeling that that was exactly what was going to happen to her tonight, in a sense.
Nodding in response, forcing an awkward, tiny smile, and repressing the urge to sigh in relief as the woman dropped her chin. She glanced at Puck, who looked nearly as uncomfortable as she did, but was trying to mask it. How appropriate. Both of them felt rather...uneasy around Mama Largo. Her silent, careful manner of doing things, along with the possessive, almost disturbing manner in which her children acted around her, was enough to make anyone feel uncomfortable, especially people in their positions.
As the limo approached, and as they all started to get in, Puck made sure to keep seated to one side of Shilo, leaving the other open for someone else. Shilo inwardly cursed, fearing that Pavi or Vittoria would be the one to take it, but luckily for her, Pavi took a seat beside his mother. That left the seat to either Luigi or Vittoria, leaving Shilo with unease either way, but at least it wasn't a long drive to the opera house.

Vittoria took the seat next to Pavi, seeing her chance to be close to him without him being to suspicious of her intentions. She couldn't help it, she just liked being around him. A lot more than a teenage girl should find her much, much older brother. Everytime he touched her she felt this...fluttering in her stomache.
Luigi took his seat next to Shiloh, trying to ignore the nervousness of the girl next to him. He hadn't been this close to her, as in touching her, in almost a year. The night both of their fathers died. Luigi supressed a sob at the memory, biting his tongue. Not only would it be a bad idea to start sobbing infront of Pavi and Vittoria, but Mama didn't like having their father mentioned.
Ever. At all. She always got this cold steely look in her eyes when Rotti was mentioned and her jaw and hands tightened up. And that was only when one of the staff talked about it. If it was one of her children, one of her children still showing that they still loved him despite all he did, there was no telling what she would do.

Pavi did his best to ignore the fact that Vittoria was sitting beside him know. He knew that she wouldn't try anything with their mother around...it was when they arrived at the party that he was going to be worried. And, though Pavi hated to admit it, the girl was looking very nice this evening in her gown that showed off her growing curves and a bit of her breast. He forced his eyes away from the girl, however, and tried to focus more on either his mother, Shilo, Puck, and even Luigi; anyone but Vittoria, who was already tempting him a bit more than he felt comfortable with.
Shilo glanced at the man beside her, not doubting that he could detect the nervousness and fear that was practically radiating from her every time she was forced into the same place as any of them. However, the strange, almost sad look that the other seemed to have, surprised her a great deal. She'd never known Luigi to look anything other than angry. For some reason, this made her a little uncertain. Less suspicious than she would have been if Pavi had been looking that way, but a bit suspicious nonetheless.
"Wanna ease up on your grip there, Shi?" Puck whispered, a bit of pain to his tone. Shilo blinked, pulled out of her thoughts suddenly to realize that she was still holding Puck's arm rather tightly. Letting go of him sheepishly, she whispered a quick apology back, not wanting to upset the silence that had been created in the limo. Puck rubbed his arm dramatically with a smirk and an eye roll. Unlike Shilo, he disliked the awkward silence, and felt the need to break it...even if that wasn't such a good idea.
"Always extravagant, eh Pavi?" Puck smirked, and Pavi smirked back, secretly glad for a distraction.
"Says-a the jester with-a little sense of color coordination," he replied back teasingly, unintentionally indulging in a bit of flirting with the other man.
